To determine the static seal load on hoods, EnergyPod Push Mode is the easiest and fastest solution. With the Extended Force Range Module, the EnergyPod can measure maximum forces up to 450N, allowing the user to explore seal loads for larger doors with greater seal effects, like on hoods or trunks. In a matter of seconds, the static seal load required to latch a hood can be measured. EnergyPod not only measures the magnitude of this force but considers the direction of the user input force in its final output.
Closing Efforts on Trunks
The Universal Hinge Module allows EnergyPod to measure closing efforts such as Closing Energy, Closing Speed, Door Angle, Friction, and more on trunks and liftgates. Some trunks open at angles too great to allow easily accessible reach of the device. In these cases, the user can close the trunk at varying open angles and track both Closing Energy and Door Angle angle from which the trunk closed to have a better understanding of the system. The compact size of EnergyPod makes it easy to mount the device in various locations on trunks with varying geometry.
Detailed Analysis with IOManager
Collect real-time data with EnergyPod and IOManager to perform more detailed analysis and create custom reports for trunks and hoods. For example, monitor how long the user pushes on a trunk to slam it closed or before an automatic system takes control to finish the closing effort.
